Only one week left!

With just a few spots left we are super excited about the camp to come. We're just now nailing the final details and are just about ready to go.

Here is the schedule for the weekend:

Friday:
18.00 registration and payment.
19.00-20.30 BJJ (Shanti)

Saturday:
09.00 - 10.30 Judo (Hannah & Emma)
11.00 Lunch
12.30-14.00 BJJ (Devi)
15.00-16.00 Sparring. (Shanti & Devi)
16.30 Dinner at the academy.
18.00 (Superior Challenge)

Sunday:
09.30-11.00 Submission Wrestling (Shanti)
11.45-13.15 BJJ (Devi)

As if our level of excitement wasnt high enough with the upcoming camp some really good news reached us this last week. Both Ida Hansson and Margareta Myhr are now BJJ brownbelts!

You probably allready know our two head instructors, Shanti and Devi, but if you dont here is a short resumé of their accomplishments:

Shanti Abelha [instructor] - BJJ brownbelt:
- 2009 ADCC World Championships competitor.
- 2009 3rd place World BJJ Championships (brownbelt).
- 2008 ADCC European champion
- 2008 European BJJ champion (purplebelt)

Devi Ahuja [instructor] - BJJ brownbelt:
- 2007 2nd place World BJJ championships (purplebelt)
- 2007 Polish ADCC chamionshion

It's only 14 days left till it all goes down and we have some really good news! We have been working hard on getting some really good judo instructors to come and teach and now its all booked and ready to go.

This years Judo instructors are:

Hannah Wahlberg - Judo blackbelt:

Swedish champion
2:nd place Nordic Championships
7:th place U23 European Championships
Been part of the swedish youth, junior and senior national teams.

We are super psyched about having these two great Judokas at the camp!

We're almost there!

With only 11 days left before the last date to sign up and we are reaching towards 50 girls registered for the camp!

We are very happy that such a wide variety of fighters has signed up. We have girls with only a couple of months trainig as well as well accomplished purple and brown belts with gold medals in the biggest of competitions. World Champions, European Champions, national champions, you name it, they'll all be there!
In a couple of days we hope to be able to publish some of the more accomplished names as well as some stats on how the belts are divided!

Last day we got word from our good friends at Jabb.se that they will once again give all participants at the camp a free "Girls Only"-Tshirt! Thank you Jabb.se!

25 days left and we're heading towards a great camp!

We're almost there folks!

Only 25days left til the camp and we're looking at an even bigger camp this time around! Last year was great with around 40 participants and this time we think we will be hitting the maximum limit of 60 eager fighters. We've actually allready almost reached the same amounts of sign ups as last years total and there's no signs that the steady stream of sign ups would stop now. So far we have girls coming in from England, Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, Germany, Finland, Denmark and of course Sweden. Actually more than half of the girls signed up so far are from outside of Swedens borders!

All this is surely pointing towards a great camp with a great exchange of techniques and experiences and we are very happy that the camp is gaining in popularity and recognition!

To you who still haven't signed up or have friends who are a little slow(:-)) we want to remind you of the limit of 60 participants at the camp so if you want to be sure you get a spot you should really sign up as soon as possible.

ADCC update:
As most of you probably know the ADCC World Championships in Barcelona didn't go all the way for this years instructor, Shanti Abelha. Shanti lost a tough fight against Penny Thomas who later on finished in second place after loosing to Hannette Staack in the finals. Shanti says "lost a great match, but gained many great experiences! I will be back ;-) Thanks to my club, teachers, friends and family for the support up to it." . We know Shanti will bring a lot of new experience to the camp and we KNOW she will be back on a winning streak really soon.

Big things happening for Girls Only instructor!

Big things are happening for Girls Only instructor Shanti Abelha.

The experienced grappler and much sought after instructor has just signed a new sponsor deal with one of the absolutely biggest gi/kimono brands, Koral! This is of course a big recognition of here abilities since Koral only signs with the best of the best. Read more about Shanti on the Koral site:

This is obviously great news but our guess is that Shanti's focus lays elsewhere right now since she is about to fight in one of the biggest grappling events there is. As you probably know the ADCC World Championships is less than a week away and Shanti is gonna be there to test here skills against the absolute best grapplers in the world.

Shanti is back!

We are very happy to announce that BJJ brownbelt Shanti Abelha is going to join already confimed instructor Devi Ahuja as a part of the dream team instructor staff at the upcoming Girls Only!

Shanti is an original GO (Girls Only) since she was one of the highly appreciated instructors at the first Girls Only camp in the beginning av 2009. Since then she has accomplished a lot taking third place at this years Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships and qualifying to the ADCC World Championships.
